Spainish property demolished
The British press is having a field day with the story of a retired couple in Spain who watched their house bulldozed by the government last week.
Helen and Leonard Prior reportedly spent £570,000 to buy and fix up a villa in Vera, which they nicknamed “Tranquilidad.” A few days ago “Tranquilidad” was torn down, after the government declared the house was built without proper permits. Spainish Property Buyers Look Inland
Buyers in Spain are looking inland for genuine Spanish settings and better deals, according to the latest trends report from Kyero.com, the property site. Country homes accounted for 27 percent of the searches on the site, compared to only seven percent for apartments.
“People are looking for the authentic Spanish, rural, get away from it all experience,” said Kyero co-owner Martin Dell.
